: Putting our faith in absolute greed makes no more sense than putting our faith in absolute altruism or absolute equality. Some people, through skills or luck or hard work will always end up better off than others, that’s life. However, without fairness there can be no legitimacy and without legitimacy order breaks down and little gets done. The definition of greed is that it is an intense and selfish desire for something especially wealth, power or food. So I sink to the point of saying that greed can be either good or bad. Many businesses are succeeding due to the greed of the owners and people on higher places in companies, while on the other hand the employees in the lower places of the companies work hard but earn little.
